ITS provides environmental support for agency-owned non-server equipment (e.g. tape storage devices, network devices, SAN (storage area network), NAS (network attached storage), external storage arrays, etc). All equipment must be covered with vendor hardware maintenance. Non-Server Support is per device/per month charge and is billed monthly as incurred. This service includes air conditioning, fire protection, electrical and backup emergency electrical service, raised flooring and racking to accommodate cabling, and security. All system and data management of non-server hosted systems will be the responsibility of the agency that owns the equipment.

EITS provides environmental support for agency-owned servers. All equipment must be covered with vendor hardware maintenance. Specific monitoring, backup and disaster recovery plans will be defined in a Service Level Agreement between EITS and the customer agency. Server Support is a per-month charge based upon three levels of hosting available for agencies to select: Basic Hosting; Advanced Hosting (Formerly Physical Server Hosting; Virtual Server Hosting. Server Hosting is billed monthly as incurred.
Server Hosting Basic

Server Hosting Advanced (formerly Physical Server Hosting)

In addition to Basic Hosting this service includes:
- Monitoring: EITS will utilize a centralized monitoring tool to verify systems and/or services are up and running and will establish a notification protocol to alert agency staff of possible down systems.
- OS Security Patch Management: On a regularly scheduled basis EITS will apply critical security patches to each hosted server to ensure protection from OS vulnerabilities.
- Hardware Management: Through alert notification EITS will manage hardware failures on hosted systems.
- Anti-Virus Management: EITS will provide anti-Virus software and utilize a centralized AV console to ensure timely updates to new Virus definitions.
- Data Backup and Recovery: EITS will back up an agency’s entire server. Backup media is stored off-site. Retention time will be specified in Service Level Agreement.
- Disaster Recovery: In case of a failed system EITS will coordinate with the agency to restore / rebuild environment. Details of Disaster Recovery will be specified in Service Level Agreement.

Server Hosting - Virtual (formerly Virtual Server Hosting)

EITS provides customers virtual servers in lieu of them purchasing a physical server. Each virtual server will include all hardware and operating system costs and the following services: data backup and recovery, anti-virus, operating system patching, monitoring, high availability and disaster recovery. A "basic virtual server" includes the following: 1v CPU, 4GBs of memory, and 100GBs of enterprise storage. Each additional 'Slice' includes one additional virtual CPU and 4GBs of additional memory, with no additional storage. [Any additional storage above the base 100GBs will be billed at the Disk Storage rate.] Agencies are billed monthly based on the number of virtual slices used.

Disk Storage (For Virtual or Physical Servers)

Disk or Direct Access Storage Devices (DASD) is available to all computer platforms hosted by the Computer Facility. DASD support provided to mainframe and UNIX is included in the mainframe (i.e. Batch, CICS, TSO, and DB2) and UNIX Support rates. Virtual Server and Server Hosted customers that require additional disk storage may reserve the storage from EITS. User agencies are billed for all reserved space, including disk space actually consumed by data files, allocated volumes and space allocated to volume groups that are dedicated to a specific agency. Disk Storage is a per MB/day charge and is billed monthly as incurred.

Business Productivity Suite (replaces/expands upon Email Service)

The Business Productivity Suite (BPS) adds cloud-based functionality to existing desktop and business collaboration services. BPS includes full versions of Office applications for Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word, OneDrive, Skype for Business and Teams, and provides the ability to synchronize content across desktops, laptops and as well as various mobile devices. BPS enables the user to work from anywhere, accessing content remotely and from any device. BPS provides larger mailbox sizes solving issues with storage and allowing staff to work the way they would like within their mailbox. BPS is always current by providing the latest version of tools and services through vendor updates, and requires less management by consolidating multiple products into one license. BPS also brings easier communication across agencies allowing departments and divisions the ability to share documents and communicate conveniently. BPS allows each user to install Office mobile applications on five PCs or Macs, 5 tablets and 5 phones.

**It should be noted that BPS replaced legacy/traditional email services effective July 1, 2019. BPS gives agencies access to the full suite of Office 365 implemented functionality. EITS is implementing Office 365 for State agencies throughout the FY20-21 biennium according to business need and resource availability. Per the established FY20-21 roll-out schedule not all agencies will have access to the full BPS suite immediately – some agencies will continue to receive legacy email service until such time as Office 365 is implemented at their agency. The legislatively approved rate of $41.76 for FY20 and $41.56 for FY21 will be charged to all users regardless of the status of their agency’s Office 365 rollout. This methodology was budgeted and approved by the 2019 Legislature and cannot be changed.
